Plane fragments fall from the sky

MIAMI - A panel of the aircraft the size of a car falling from the sky and hit a parking lot of a shopping center in Florida. Aircraft panel is known comes from the body cargo aircraft that happened to pass.

This event certainly make visitors surprised the center. But this incident did not cause casualties and damage caused by pieces of the plane will not mean much.

Currently airline Atlas Air Inc., was investigated the United States aviation authorities (FAA) for questioning about the incident. Panel aircraft weighing 68 pounds that fell is known is derived from the fuselage of Atlas Air cargo.

Aircraft panel that resembles the shape of a canoe came from the Boeing 747 fuselage, as it approached Miami International Airport after undergoing flight from Santiago, Chile.

We landed at Miami International Airport, the cargo aircraft could land safely. FAA own rate although there is no loss of life due to this incident, pieces of the plane that dropped it could have resulted from fatal to each object ditimpanya.

"FAA will investigate every aspect of this situation to determine why the incident happened. We will check the aircraft panels, aircraft maintenance records and notice of the plane," said FAA spokesperson, Kathleen Bergen, as quoted by the AFP (6/2/2010) .

Cargo plane owned by Atlas Air itself was at an altitude of 450 meters and as far as 4 kilometers from the airport when a panel made of fiberglass material from the wing to fall. The panel itself is the most important part of the cut plane, because it can slow down the plane when landing.

While the party itself admitted Atlas Air will continue to investigate this incident. They do not want the reputation of one of Atlas Air cargo airline in the world's largest, tarnished by this incident. (faj) (RHS)
